Je Vous Aime is a lecture-performance about a short film, so short that it lasts barely a second: it is 1891, four years before the Lumière premiere. Georges Demenÿ invents a device that for the first time manages to project a faint moving image: his own face uttering the words “Je vous aime”. This is technically the first video ever, which will lead to the invention of the cinematograph and eventually cinema itself.
Starting from History, always the result of a meticulous choice between what can be preserved and what cannot, and from the Archive, a device at the service of a certain system of power, the performance highlights the anti-history, or rather “those whom History does not take into account”; thus revealing how that first video was aimed at teaching lip-reading to deaf children – after they were prevented by law from signing. This was the verdict of the Milan Congress, the consequences of which still affect Deaf people today. In Italy, Italian Sign Language (LIS) was only recognised as a true language in May 2021: 141 years later. Je vous Aime is, therefore, a multimedia performative stage action that unfolds between verbal storytelling, slides, video testimonies in Italian Sign Language (LIS), and Visual Sign (a poetic form of sign languages) with the aim of discussing audism, phonocentrism, and linguicism, and rewriting the “literature of the masters”.

Diana Anselmo is a Deaf performer, activist and improvised human being.Bilingual LIS and Italian, she made her debut with her first performance “Autoritratto in 3 atti” (2021), still presented at various Italian and international festivals. Abroad, he made his debut in Berlin with “Le Sacre du Printemps (2022)” by Xavier Le Roy. He is one of the founders of Al.Di.Qua. Artists, the first association in Europe of and for artists* with disabilities.
Sara Pranovi is a LIS interpreter with specific expertise in the world of performance. On stage, she has translated numerous shows into LIS: alongside Marta Cuscunà (Corvidae, Sguardi di Specie) and Irene Serini (Abracadabra), she has also interpreted in sign language the works “Abbracci” by Teatro Telaio, “I Danni del Pomodoro” by Teatro d’Emergenza, “Escargot” by Teatro del Piccione, “Il Tenace Soldatino di Piombo” by Teatro delle Apparizioni and “Pornodrama 2.0” by Giuseppe Comuniello and Camilla Guarino.

10 is round and double figure, the one of big occasions to be celebrated and balances to evaluated. These have been years of races, chases, discussions and question marks. Years in which we have experimented and dared. We assumed our liberties and shared them. We have met and gotten to know the neighbours of the district first and then the rest of the world. We have listened and translated different languages. We have gained confidence with new the technologies, the multimedia and the digital, conversed with computers and programmed smartphones, composed playlists and conceived new formats. We have invaded squares, streets and metro stops, walked through peripheral streets and paths as well as looked at the world from above. We have seen dawns and sunrises just outside the city, played with kids and children and chased elderly in tights who believed themselves Superman. We have danced to German pop, the Catalan pasodoble and English rock. We almost founded a party. We fell in love numerous of times like all free girls.
The wish to understand, enter the issues, imagine and discover new ways of doing remains the same to what it was ten years ago. The world for us is yet to leaf, many urgencies to explore, many questions to verify even is often the answers fail to satisfy. And so we continue, always more confident that putting the people and their actions at the center of the projects is a way to listen to a thousand different perspectives and open new outlooks on the world which surrounds us. We are interested in the future. The next ten years. We have always liked challenges. We believe in the purity of the public and the coherence of our work, of which the vision is founded on the belief that artistic creation is an active lever and activator for the reflection and collective action on the social dynamics of contemporary life.
The shows that we present are born and tell lived lives, experiences perhaps extreme, often far from the narration yelled from media and socials. At the base of the artistic research on the shows in programme we can always find a real date, a witness or a historical/scientific document, an urgency to recount. Because they are a set of small stories, daring gestures and controversial choices which make history. And this will continue to be our direction.

Matita è un concerto da guardare, colorare, disegnare. Un ensemble di disegnatori ritmici attorno a un tavolo microfonato, che amplifica il suono di matite, penne, pennarelli. Un pianoforte li accompagna, li guida, li insegue in un dialogo musicale.
L’atto del disegnare si trasforma in un gesto ritmico, visivo e sonoro, che accompagna e dà forma e struttura alla musica. Il concerto è la presentazione ufficiale del nuovo live da palco, si avvale di nuovi visuals curati dal gruppo stesso, con la collaborazione dell’artista visivo Daniele Spanò.

Birdie compares two mirages.

A multimedia show, visionary and rational at the same time, which deals with the evolution and survival of mankind with a critical spirit and wit in a clever composition of live performances, live video footage, scale models, art films and newspaper cuttings.

The PLAY-K(ei) Who are we? season closes 2016 with the now customary European appointment, dedicated this year to CATALONIA. A rich and lively cultural panorama, a multiform theatrical scene, with peaks of excellence in very different disciplines, from contemporary circus to urban performance.
An autonomous region with a strong identity, Catalonia is today both an example of the protection of identities and a mirror of the many trends towards independence in Europe. It is therefore a region that represents a stimulus for investigation, leading to the identification of leading groups on the performance scene and a reflection on the political and cultural developments of an increasingly complex and fragile Europe.
Can the protection of identities be a guarantee of artistic freedom? Can the aspiration for local economic and political independence exist within a Europeanist vision?
ZONA K chooses some of the most representative and innovative artists, whose work is able to speak about contemporary reality and the contemporary world.
At the same time, in a parallelism between the actuality of the present and the avant-garde of the past, it investigates the Spanish Civil War on its 80th anniversary, through the eyes of artists who recounted their present.

Cosa succederebbe se il celebre burattino di legno facesse un giro all’Idroscalo? Cosa accadrebbe invece se i sette nani decidessero di farsi una bella gita al parco Trotter o se Pollicino si perdesse in città ?”
Un campus estivo alla scoperta della nostra città, seguendo il filo conduttore di un libro per l’infanzia letto insieme ai bambini.
Una storia che diventa spunto poetico per altre storie e per creare grandi libri rilegati a mano fatti dai bambini con disegni, illustrazioni, frammenti di natura e di città.
In questo campus estivo tanti saranno i luoghi da vedere, scoprire e dove organizzare ogni giorno un divertente “pic nic metropolitano”.
Posti limitati, l’iscrizione è obbligatoria. Il campus si attiverà al raggiungimento del numero minimo richiesto.

Queste due settimane di campus estivi saranno improntate soprattutto al divertimento e allo svago.
Giochi fisici e tecniche rubate alla danza e allo sport, alternati a momenti di relax ispirati allo yoga, per “ritemprare” il corpo; giochi di abilità e lavori manuali per “rinfrancare” lo spirito.
Tutto all’insegna di un modo giocoso e costruttivo di stare insieme e lavorare in gruppo, per confermare la consapevolezza che le regole e il rispetto degli altri non limitano la libertà, anzi, ci aiutano a trovare quella vera.
N.B. Solo queste due settimane di campus estivi prevedono di unire i due gruppi d’età materna ed elementare, sono quindi rivolte a bambini dai 4 agli 11 anni.
Saranno attivate solo al raggiungimento del numero minimo di 10 iscritti totali a settimana.
Ogni attività, salvo eventuali visite di esperti e ospiti esterni, sarà svolta in tedesco, con momenti dedicati al lavoro in piccoli gruppi per stimolare l’uso attivo della lingua anche tra i bambini.
La settimana alterna momenti di attività e momenti di riposo e libertà.
Accanto ai laboratori pratici, sono previste ogni settimana 2 o 3 gite a musei e luoghi culturali della città in linea con il tema del campus.

Ancora un po’ di divertimento, allegria e soprattutto creatività.
I bambini andranno alla scoperta degli altri, dello spazio, del proprio corpo, della voce, del suono, di nuove tecniche e materiali per trovare nuovi modi di raccontare ed esprimere se stessi.
Insieme creeranno una rappresentazione finale che prenderà forma e vita grazie all’apporto delle idee di tutti.
TAM TAM è il primo CAMPUS estivo multidisciplinare per bambini e bambine che affianca il TEATRO, l’ARTE e il MOVIMENTO per dare spazio alle diverse creatività, per tenere la mente aperta ad ogni forma di fantasia e sua realizzazione.
TEATRO (Enzo Biscardi): corpo e parola, azione ed emozione. L’esperienza del teatro è dedicata alla creazione verbale e non verbale che privilegia i significati emozionali, affettivi, sensoriali, immaginativi.
ARTE (Paola Gaggiotti): forme, materiali, tecniche. La ricerca sulle arti visive sensibilizza i partecipanti all’arte contemporanea analizzando gli strumenti del fare artistico, sviluppando le capacità di lavorare in maniera collaborativa e interdisciplinare, maturando il senso critico ed estetico.
MOVIMENTO (Monica Galassi): il pensiero prende corpo. Lo spazio del movimento creativo è orientato, alla coscienza del corpo, alla scoperta del linguaggio gestuale ed emozionale e delle sue potenzialità creative e comunicative.

CAMPUS ESTIVO VIDEO&TEATRO.
Comincia un insolito viaggio nel quartiere… telecamere in mano e nuove idee per la testa, andiamo a scoprire dove si nasconde il tesoro dell’Isola, e soprattutto cos’è questo tesoro.
In questo campus estivo lo facciamo creando una storia, decidendo situazioni, ruoli, immagini; scegliendo gli angoli del quartiere da riprendere e chi intervistare.
La ricerca del tesoro sarà pretesto per la creazione una metafora che ci porti a indagare sul quartiere e su ciò che di prezioso in esso si nasconde.
I ragazzi e le ragazze useranno gli strumenti del video e del teatro, scoprendone gli aspetti tecnici, espressivi e narrativi.
Al termine del campus verrà realizzato un cortometraggio che sarà proiettato durante il festival ISOLA KULT a fine settembre.
Posti limitati, l’iscrizione è obbligatoria. Il campus estivo si attiverà al raggiungimento del numero minimo richiesto.
Le attività più tecniche vedranno comunque la separazione del gruppo in base alla fascia d’età, per permettere a tutti di fare le cose in base alle proprie capacità.

Kiki van Eijk and Joost van Bleiswijk present PHYSICAL, an ambitious autonomous exhibition at the Salone del Mobile in Milan, including over 30 new works in five separate collections. Taking place at a beautiful modernistic theatre space in the Isola District, the designers have looked at ways in which to explore design in a physical way. Using physics, as a starting point: exploring nature’s balance, motion, warmth, light, electricity and construction, both designers have taken diverse routes of research.
The theme for PHYSICAL also refers to material in a tangible sense. As society is increasingly entrenched in the digital world, for Kiki and Joost, their roles as designers becomes more important. The quest to give shape and substance to an object is a large responsibility. The result is a series of new works from both designers, with each collection consisting of beautiful handcrafted objects.
The first of Kiki’s collections is Physical Interaction, a series of three light sculptures that highlight her passion for fusing handcraft with high tech. The wonder of a child playing has proved powerful inspiration for this piece; she took this movement into account when deciding how to illuminate the lamps. She made the switch interactive, such as blowing on a mobile, lighting a flint, covering a part with your hand to activate the dimmer or off-°©‐switch rather than using a traditional method.
Kiki’s second collection is Conversation Piece, a round table sculpture meant to question the values and worth of product industry and craft by reimagining the Dutch custom of round-°©‐table discussions. Designed in walnut, bronze, and faux marble, the sculpture includes a chair smashing through a beautiful, veneered table with purposefully unexciting desk lighting. With the piece, Kiki is asking, “Do we wonder if everything is wrong, nothing is right and everything is twisted?”
Depicted as a collection of bronze objects, her third presentation, Civilised Primitives, is a conversation about the present value of survival. Focusing on essence and origin, Kiki has looked to survival methods, which encourage inventiveness and joy in nature when combined with the basic forms that man has created: the circle, square, and triangle. The series includes an A-°©‐frame daybed, desk, candleholder, mirror, clock, desk light, curved lamp, and table lamp.
Joost presents Meccanic Constructions, a collection that draws inspiration from the model construction method Meccano, loved by children. In creating a series of hand-°©‐cut elements, which function as construction pieces, Joost ensures everything has both a functional and structural value. The presentation, made up of a coffee table, vertical lamp, shade XL and a cabinet, shows an improvised and spontaneous method of building that feels reminiscent of the structures one discovers in a physical and natural way of constructing. Joost continually added new elements to satisfy the build of each object, giving each piece a feeling of a natural and evolving physical growth.
Joost’s second collection, The Protopunk, was created from a completely improvised outcome of blow-°©‐torched pieces of flat metal, made without moulds, detailed drawings or even defined ideas. The pieces, comprised of thick cuts of steel, were roughly cut with the torch, welded together and then painted black and white. This aesthetic makes the works, a Jack table, clock, little lamp, standing lamp and key cabinet, sideboard, sidetable, chess table, chess set, pendant light, vase, stationary set, dresser become combative-°©‐looking, strong characters. The sensation is punk-°©‐like in its powerful, handmade, one-°©‐off roughness.
“Researching, experiencing and creating with your own hands is the best way to gather knowledge. This is the reason why babies from nature already experiment with physical principles. They obviously feel a need to play with physical things and are not able to live in a purely virtual world. ABOUT KIKI VAN EIJK
Kiki van Eijk was born in 1978 and graduated Cum Laude in 2000 from Design Academy Eindhoven. Her nostalgic approach combined with her poetic and personal style comes to life in a wide range of work like carpets, lighting, furniture, ceramics, glassware and luxurious textiles. By combining old and new techniques on unexpected objects, Kiki surprises and delights her audience. Along with her own collections, she works on projects for companies and institutions such as MOOOI, Häagen-ˇ‐Dazs, Serax, Bernhardt Design, Venice Projects, Hermès, Saint-°©‐Louis, Nodus, Omnidecor, La Montre Hermès, Rijksmuseum, 1882 Ltdand private collectors. Her work is published and sold worldwide.
ABOUT JOOST VAN BLEISWIJK
Joost van Bleiswijk was born in Delft, Netherlands in 1976. He graduated from design school in 2001, and developed his signature ‘no glue no screw’ collection, for which he is best known. These collections evolve each year, becoming more complicated, interesting, and architectural. Along with his own collections, he has worked for companies such as Ahrend, Bruut Furniture, Design Connection, Lebesque, Secondome, Moooi, and Rijksmuseum etc. His work has been exhibited in international galleries such as Moss and Vivid, along with museums such as Holon Design Museum and Zuiderzeemuseum.

12 Agosto 2012: il comune di Affile (RM) inaugura un monumento dedicato al gerarca fascista Rodolfo Graziani, generale durante la Guerra d’Etiopia del 1935 e primo viceré della nuova colonia.
La notizia raggiunge la stampa internazionale e suscita un indignato scalpore.
A Graziani viene imputato l’uso delle armi chimiche e il ricorso a violenti rappresaglie contro la popolazione civile. Crimini di guerra per cui non fu mai processato, e che appartengono indelebilmente alle più oscure e controverse pagine del colonialismo italiano.
Le comunità etiopi in tutto il mondo si mobilitano e organizzano proteste che dagli Stati Uniti arrivano fino ad Affile.
A 75 anni dalla caduta dell’impero coloniale italiano, nuove generazioni di etiopi e di italiani si confrontano su un passato tormentato e ancora irrisolto.
Incontro col regista Valerio Ciriaci, il produttore Isaak Liptzin e Roberto Cenati, Presidente ANPI Provinciale Milano.

Attraverso gli occhi dei bambini ci fa provare l’esperienza di un lupo che arriva all’improvviso o di un falco che attacca le galline di un pollaio.
Per 365 giorni la regista ha condiviso le giornate con i bambini di Romoos accompagnata dalla sua telecamera nel meraviglioso e potente comprensorio del Monte Napf dove la leggenda racconta sia stato creato il tuono.

The terms STILL and LEBEN when combined into one word in German mean ‘still life’. By separating the two words, one can obtain multiple meanings: still life; silent living; quiet. Different reading possibilities that somehow reveal a blurred border between stillness, death and life. Fernando Pessoa wrote “What do I die when I am?”.
This work stems from the need to reflect on the figure of the woman without wanting to inquire into her social and cultural position, rather portraying her in the intimacy of her relationship with herself. It is an ever-changing portrait of a woman faded by time, a figure with no boundaries that is changing its forms and is told through the irony and melancholy of a solitude that sometimes or often keeps us company.
It suggests a climate, sometimes a condition or a state of preservation. It investigates those memories abandoned and consumed among rooms without walls, in the spaces of a metaphorical dwelling, in a place where one can still dialogue with one’s absences. It is a creation of real but not necessarily realistic images, which try to penetrate layer after layer under the surface of a life.

Camilla Parini – 1984, Switzerland. In 2004 she met the Teatro delle Radici (directed by Cristina Castrillo, Swiss Theatre Prize 2014) with which she began a training and work path, taking part in the shows D_verso D_(2006), Shakespeariana (2008), Track (2009), Dove lo sguardo scorre (2011), Neve (2012), Amori (2013), Petali (2015) performing in various theatres, festivals and shows in Switzerland and abroad (Argenitna, Chile, Cuba, Denmark, Ecuador, Italy and Peru). In 2008 she graduated as a social worker at the University of Applied Sciences of Southern Switzerland SUSPI-DSAS. In 2012 she graduated in Milan at the Scuola di Teatro Paolo Grassi, in the professional course of dance theatre, presenting performances in festivals such as Torino Danza, Biennale Danza Venezia and Bolzano Danza. For some years now she has been collaborating with various professional realities in the Italian part of Switzerland, both in the field of theatre/performance and cinema. She also works with other dance, theatre and performance companies such as Les Ballets C de la B, Wupperrtal Tanztheater, Trisha Brown Dance Company, Peeping Tom, Nicole Seiler, Geraldine Pilgrim, Iris Erez, Violeta Luna. In 2013 she laid the first foundations for the creation of the artistic group Collective Ingwer with which she produced her first show STILL LEBEN in 2014. Currently Collettivo Ingwer, in collaboration with Azimut, is working on its new production “Princesses karaoke or something like that…” (semifinalist at PREMIO Schweiz, an encouragement prize for the performing arts) which will debut in April 2016 in co-production with Teatro Sociale Bellinzona, created and performed by Camilla Parini and Anahì Traversi.

In questa settimana di Campus, ai bambini verrà offerta l’occasione di venire a contatto con diverse forme d’arte e in particolare con la danza, la musica dal vivo e l’arte visiva che rappresentano un’inesauribile fonte creativa. Il contatto diretto tra musicista e danzatore crea un’atmosfera stimolante e produttiva di energia vitale. L’improvvisazione tra musica e danza è una forma artistica ricca e uno strumento didattico che contribuisce alla crescita della personalità e dell’espressività del bambino. Nel corso della settimana a turno parteciperanno ai laboratori di musica, danza e arte visiva (all’aperto).
I LABORATORI DI MUSICA, DANZA, ARTE VISIVA
I bambini verranno divisi in gruppi di lavoro per argomento e fascia d’età (6>8 e 9>11 anni) .
Nel laboratorio di musica, tenuto dal musicista batterista e percussionista Filippo Monico intraprenderanno un viaggio sonoro attraverso varie culture grazie ad una serie di strumenti musicali derivati per lo più dal regno animale, minerale e vegetale. Saranno date informazioni sulle origini geografiche ed etniche degli strumenti e sul loro uso. I piccoli partecipanti comunicheranno attraverso giochi del suono, del ritmo e del canto. Valuteremo poi cosa ci può offrire l’ambiente naturale, ma anche quello urbano, per costruire insieme degli strumenti simili a quelli antichi e inventare mille modi di farli suonare e risuonare ….con suoni gravi, acuti, forti, deboli, lunghi, corti….. con ritmi lenti, veloci, continui, spezzati …… cantando piccole melodie insieme alla musica prodotta anche dagli strumenti che avremo costruito assieme.
Nel laboratorio di danza, tenuto dalla danzatrice e formatrice Cristina Negro, i bambini saranno guidati alla riscoperta del proprio corpo e del movimento diventando dei veri e propri corpi scenici. Si lavorerà anche con tessuti colorati e altri materiali.
Nella giornata di mercoledì ci si dedicherà al laboratorio di arte visiva .
Faremo una gita al Parco di Catella per andare alla scoperta di quegli elementi naturali (legnetti, erba, sassi, foglie…..) con i quali costruire “sculture“ naturali che si adatteranno e si trasformeranno nell’ambiente in cui vivono.
Il campus si concluderà l’ultimo giorno con un momento di incontro tra i bambini, gli artisti, gli educatori e i genitori: “PICCOLE MERAVIGLIE”, una performance di danza e musica dal vivo, dove i bambini parteciperanno attivamente come performer. Piccole meraviglie è una nuova produzione Takla pensata ad hoc per un pubblico di bambini e genitori, che sperimenta l’improvvisazione come strumento per avvicinare i bambini alla musica e alla danza e i genitori, i qualità di adulti, all’improvvisazione come linguaggio artistico e ai suoi valori.

Le mete possibili dei nostri giri in città saranno: Piazza Gae Aulenti, gli orti di Via Pepe in Isola e con il metrò si può andare al Castello, all’Hangar Bicocca, al Mic, Macao, alla Ca’ Grand. Potremmo visitare il Monumentale, Villa Necchi, l’orto botanico ecc.
Al mattino visiteremo la città, nel pomeriggio si va al parco a scoprire i tesori del nostro paniere.

Images and visions of a girl looking for her mother in a foreign country make up a show based on the interaction between acting, live drawing and live music. The three aspects, which are so intertwined that one cannot exist without the other, create a subtle balance that crosses theatrical action, improvisation and visual performance.
The projected images that make up the scenography are guided and animated by a live artist using a graphic tablet, ranging from simple signs to a certain degree of complexity. At the same time, the musician interacts through pre-recorded tracks and live acoustic interventions of bass and guitar.
A type of social theatre that investigates two orders of contemporary conflicts: the exclusion of the foreigner, which finds its drift in the annihilation of individuality, and the impossibility of fully understanding the other’s point of view within an intergenerational relationship, specifically that between mother and daughter.
The Collettivo Cascina Barà was formed in 2011 in Baraka (Pisan countryside). Everything came about by cause, not by chance. One day souls came together, an idea became a project, produced words, added movements, conveyed sounds, scattered drawings.
#Tessuto was born from a collective direction, a choral work on the text, a Collective based in the ideal space of Cascina Barà, a kind of island that is and is not.

Her fertility is in doubt. Perhaps she will not be able to procreate. Until now he has not considered the problem. All it takes is one element not working to destabilise the whole.
A parental tutorial on adaptability and survival. Making up for the possible absence of a child. Caring for those who, having been born, are destined to perish. The possibility of not generating another life, another skeleton. Cow bones, emblem of the primary nourishment: milk. Encounter between body and ex-body. One inert in substance, the other incapable of its natural functions, they meet, they converse mute.
An unexpected short-circuit causes the gap between mimesis and reality.
Strategy K reworks the story of hysteria (one of the most complex paradigms of the mind-body problem), a pathology that was once believed to be linked to problems of procreation, reconnecting with the “real” problem of presumed infertility of the performer on stage and creating a new physical score drawing on extra-theatrical sources such as ethology, such as the Iconographie photographique de la Salpêtrière, a visionary and obsessive reservoir of ante-litteram pain spectacularization, or Didi Huberman’s thought (especially her L’invenzione dell’interia).
The spectacularization of pain and private drama, which today has reached dizzying heights, has older origins than we think: in the late nineteenth century, the alleged hysterics of the Salpêtrière were literally put on stage, made to perform in front of an audience of doctors, forced to have attacks and rewarded with a final applause.
Elisa Turco Liveri and Salvatore Insana met in 2010 in the Meta-Teatro space in Rome. The project they are part of tries to bring together theatre and video in the sign of a continuous research in which the two languages maintain their own specificity and at the same time are able to generate new forms of expression. In recent years they have produced video-theatrical works (A pezzi; Nelle pieghe; Land(e)scapes, In Negativo, Space-Time Lapse), audiovisual research projects (Aperture; In pieces; Recognition; Radici; Hunger; L’altra velocità) and photographic investigations (Space-time Lapse, Umano non umano; Folds, Contre nature).

Three amorous fragments constructed from an encounter with contemporary author Tiziano Scarpa. An author whose writing provides an attentive and ironic look at the state of love today. Three lives caught in a crucial moment: having a child, moving, choosing whether to love. A theatrical script made up of images and actions, of thoughts that take on body and voice. Zuo Jaobing was a man. Former Maoist. Former communist. Former peasant. Former worker. Ex-alive. Extra-terrestrial because he is Chinese, so absolutely different and incomprehensible that he needs subtitles. His body rests on the shoulders of Chang Showei, his lifelong friend, who walks a long way, for kilometres, for days. He crosses the boundless economic empire of 21st century China to give the body the honour of being buried in its birthplace. Going against the rules of the “civilised” world, Chang involuntarily performs a heroic act, guided only by his instinct and his “shoes”. An interweaving of true stories that, passing from Mao’s cultural revolution to the conditions of Asian workers, comes down to us, for whom Made in China is just the label on the products we buy. Masks, puppets, faces from the Beijing Opera House, Tai Chi fans, the adrenalin-pumping rhythms of award-winning advertisements, the red booklet, shadows, lights, projections, animated drawings, a broken TV set and a shoe.
Roberto Capaldo is a theatre author and actor. He cultivated his interest in figurative arts and stage space by graduating in Architecture in Rome and specialising in scenography at the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala in Milan. In theatre he trained with Daniela Regnoli, Ferruccio Soleri, Francesco Gigliotti, Claudia Contin and Ferruccio Merisi. Other important formative meetings are with Living Theatre, Yves Lebreton, Elsa Fonda, Raul Yaiza, Letizia Quintavalla, Serena Sinigaglia. As an actor he has worked with Bindo Toscani, Marco Angelilli, Antonio Catalano, Bruno Stori, Giulio Molnar, Serena Sinigaglia, Carrozzeria Orfeo, Teatro Inverso. He writes and performs his own shows, often solos, for which he has won numerous awards (including the Manfredi Mastroianni De Sica Prize 2004 for best show and best leading actor; Calandra Prize 2007, Borsellino Prize 2008 for social and civil commitment, Italian show at the XI International Blacksea Festival). He carries out pedagogical activities in the field of social projects and at Idrafactory – Fabbrica del Teatro in Brescia.

After many years, Tiziano Popoli and Vincenzo Vasi collaborate again on the soundtrack for a silent film. For the occasion they have given themselves a name and an eloquent image: that of the perfidious Dr Caligari, this time in a new family version. No longer just one but two Caligaris. Two brothers, strenuous supporters of the controversial theory according to which there is a correct acoustic therapy for every clinical pathology, authors of a treatise on the “cleaning of the ear” that has raised a fuss in the medical and academic field. They are said to be charlatans. They reply that they will apply themselves to the remusication of Der Golem by implementing instant composition strategies that straddle the line between kletzmer and electronic-mysticism.

Essere civile significa avere bisogni complessi. E’ terribile essere civile perché quando arrivi alla fine del mondo non hai nulla per sopportare il tuo peso, il peso della tua mancanza a te stesso. E un individuo, quando è davvero cresciuto, non dovrebbe aver bisogno di nulla.
AUTOSERVICE è un progetto in dieci tappe, dieci volumi. E’ una carrozzeria. Opere più o meno classiche della letteratura vengono attraversate per brevi periodi di tempo di lavoro sulla scena per essere sciolte dalla loro provenienza e drogate con ciò che resta del teatro. La forma di esposizione, il formato e la durata possono essere atipici dal mondo del palcoscenico. L’autoservice fa riferimento ad un luogo di cura di oggetti ammaccati e al tempo stesso alla fruizione leggera della sfogliatura da scaffale.
Luca Camilletti, tra i membri fondatori del gruppo Kinkaleri, lavora oggi individualmente nel campo delle arti sceniche, con estensione alla musica, alla fotografia e alle lingue, sviluppando percorsi di ricerca del tutto personali, con una visione eterogenea ed uno sguardo analitico nel processo di creazione.

The French musician Michel Doneda has been active since the 1970s in the field of jazz and improvisational music. He has worked with musicians, but also dancers, poets and actors from all over the world. To date, he has released more than 50 records for European, US and Japanese record companies.
Together with the drummer Filippo Monico and the dancer Cristina Negro from the Takla Improvising Group, they will give life to a performance of music and dance, an instantaneous composition born from listening and the relationship between the three artists, the place and the audience.

Practically unknown in Italy, Oliver Frljić is perhaps the most famous, certainly the most discussed, among the young Balkan directors, and he arrives in Italy within the programming of PLAY-K(ei), the interdisciplinary season of ZONA K.
Born in 1976 in Bosnia, he lives in Zagreb, where he works non-stop as a director, author, actor and theatre theorist. His works, sharply critical and provocative towards the society of former Yugoslavia, have divided the audience, between reactions of enthusiasm and rejection, have won numerous awards and are hosted in the most important theatres of the region and international festivals.
Odio la verità has become a real cult in Croatia. It recounts the autobiographical events of Frljić’s family.
However, in interpreting the events, the actors-members of the family (including the actor who plays Oliver himself, son and author of the play at the same time) discover how different their memories of the common past are and, in a continuous meta-theatrical game between “the inside” and “the outside”, question the possibility of representing the real events and keep asking themselves what is “true” and what is not.
Odio la verità is the second appointment of PLAY-K(ei) Europe, the special route that PLAY-K(ei) dedicates to Europe, this year in particular to the Balkans and to the entry of Croatia in the EU.

Il progetto della Casa della Memoria nasce dall’idea del Comune di Milano di collocare nel Quartiere Isola un edificio per ospitare le sedi di un gruppo di associazioni milanesi che, seppur diverse nell’origine e nelle finalità, si richiamano tutte all’esercizio civile della memoria collettiva. Il principio ispiratore dell’A.N.P.I. (Associazione Nazionale Partigiani d’Italia) e della FIAP (Federazione Italiana Associazioni Partigiane), così come quello dell’ANED (Associazione Nazionale Ex Deportati) e dell’INSMLI (Istituto Nazionale per la Storia del Movimento di Liberazione), non diversamente dallo spirito che investe l’attività dell’AIVITER (Associazione Italiana Vittime Terrorismo) e delle altre associazioni dei parenti delle vittime di stragi, è infatti quello di combattere l’amnesia collettiva e di tenere viva la memoria sui fatti di politica e di violenza che hanno caratterizzato la storia milanese e nazionale negli ultimi 60 anni.

Anche per l’Italia, come per la maggiorparte dei paesi del nostro continente, la lotta di liberazione contro il nazismo e il fascismo ha rappresentato un momento di ridefinizione della propria identità civile e collettiva, anche se i valori da essa rappresentati (come peraltro quelli del Risorgimento) non sono mai stati assorbiti completamente. La carica di tensione che ne deriva è riscontrabile soprattutto sul piano della memoria e dei modi con i quali la Resistenza è stata rappresentata (insegnata, raccontata, comunicata).

Dancer, choreographer and performer of Slovenian origin, Mala Kline studied art and philosophy in Ljubljana, Amsterdam and New York and is one of the most interesting artistic figures in the Balkan region. Her work seeks the emotional representation of inner worlds and an authentic and disruptive relationship between performer and audience.
EDEN is not a paradise lost, it is not a place of peace and bliss. EDEN is a place of healing with a razor blade, an elsewhere in which to find oneself, awake and open, exposed to the beauty and cruelty of events. Mala Kline dances, sings, acts; she interprets multiple figures, animals, emotions with a rare strength, an original and entirely personal ability to convey what she defines as “the human essence” with authenticity, sincerity and brilliant irony.
In this second edition, PLAY-K(ei) looks at Europe and gives life to PLAY-Europe, a special journey within the season dedicated this year entirely to the Balkans and Croatia’s entry into the EU.

After releasing more than 20 albums as La Crus, The Dining Rooms, NOOrda and Sem’bro, in 2011 Cesare Malfatti signed his first album under his own name, with lyrics by Alessandro Cremonesi, in which he sang,
played all the instruments, and produced a CD personally printed, stitched and made out to those who requested it.
Now he has decided to tinge his new work with Jazz Una mia distrazione (Adesiva Discografica 2013, artistic co-production Paolo Iafelice), by calling on the Milanese pianist and composer Antonio Zambrini, a real treasure of our music, to play alongside him.
The result is an airy work, with a wide melodic range, but less usual than his previous experience as a soloist.
A real “happy distraction” in Malfatti’s career.
The evening marks the opening of the new interdisciplinary season PLAY-K(ei) 2013-2014.

Two sisters live their daily dystopia.
They distort natural Time and Space to create a microcosm that is theirs alone, regulated by a decalogue that marks their lives and that they have inherited, just as one inherits eye colour.
To maintain this balance they use the only strategy they know: play, the only moment of authenticity. A child’s game that becomes an opportunity to give free rein to adult, violent and turbid impulses, impulses that would otherwise be constantly silenced. If you want to survive, all you can do is keep quiet: swallow and pretend nothing is happening.
We have created a surreal and perverse but perfect balance.
The Gorsciaskji Company was founded in November 2011 by three young actresses: Anna Schirru, Maria Gorini and Caterina Sciariada. The three girls, one from Milan, one from Rome and one from Cagliari, met at the propaedeutic acting course at the Paolo Grassi School of Dramatic Art and chose Milan as the base for the company. With a similar vision of theatre and aesthetic taste, they embarked on a journey during which the physiognomy of the company was outlined. Ingoia e fai finta di niente is their first work.

the project TRICHER has been selected for the NAPOLI FRINGE FESTIVAL 2013
I want to do a survey.
I want to know the truth.
I want to find the right question to get the answer I don’t expect.
I want to stop lying.
I want to be an eyewitness.
I want to give my testimony.
Our starting question is always the same: “What is the difference between not telling the truth and lying?”
In this third chapter we will try to answer by focusing our analysis on the contribution that “Testimonies” can make to the search for _no lie_.
MO.Lem continues to deepen the themes addressed in the previous chapters by updating them on the basis of the continuous real changes in society and politics. The show changes according to the period of its staging, it is a continuous work in progress that allows the companies to work constantly together on the project. The show is conceived and structured to be staged also (and above all!) in unconventional places, which allow a more direct relationship with the public, so as to reproduce an ideal “agora”. “[…] A work in progress in which five actors deal with social and current themes, representing and dismantling the dearest fairy tales of our memories. The MO.Lem collective (Movimento Libere Espressioni Metropolitane) was founded in July 2009 and is formed by the Turin-based theatre companies Anticamera Teatro, Chi per Es Teatro, Ivaldi|Mercuriati and Chiara Cardea, joined in 2012 by Grimaco Movimentiumani. The aim of the collective is to unite different theatrical experiences for the realisation and organisation of projects linked to contemporaneity.
